Bio

My name is Sherry Brownlee.  I have been teaching in the South Carolina Public School System for 23 years with 20 of those in Kindergarten.  I taught in Colleton County from 1991 until 2003 and moved to Dorchester 4 where I plan to remain.  My teaching philosophy is that every child deserves to have fair and equal opportunitites to become successful lifelong learners.  I graduated from The University of South Carolina in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Psychology.  I received my National Board Certification in 2008.  I serve as grade level chairperson for PreSchool and Kindergarten, serve as a cheerleading coach, have plans to start a spring softball program, as well as working on other committees to make our school a better place for all students.  I grew up and presently live in the Rosinville area with my husband Roger and daughter Katie who is in 5th grade here at Harleyville Elementary School.  My oldest daughter Elizabeth will be graduating in December from Centura College with a degree in Massage Therapy and is expecting my first grandchild in April.  I am proud to say that I am part of a great family here at Harleyville Elementary!
