All afterschool activities are also canceled. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we encourage everyone to stay safe as the weather moves through our community. Mrs. Pafford’s math class at Harleyville Elementary School had a fun way to learn about probability. Students used bags of M&M’s to figure out the chances of picking certain colors based on what was in their bag.

Once they worked through the probability part of the lesson, the class moved into fractions using the same candy as examples. And yes, once the math was done, students got to enjoy their M&M’s while finishing the lesson.
