Once they worked through the probability part of the lesson, the class moved into fractions using the same candy as examples. And yes, once the math was done, students got to enjoy their M&M’s while finishing the lesson.

In Mrs. Hartzog’s first-grade classroom at Harleyville Elementary, she projects her lesson onto the interactive board while students follow along and work in their books. The focus is on clear instruction and steady practice as students build their math skills. It’s a calm, focused room where learning stays front and center.

Dorchester School District 4 is closely monitoring the current measles outbreak in the Upstate. While there are no reported cases in our area or in DD4 at this time, we remain committed to ensuring our district community is prepared.
