Interested in your son or daughter playing basketball this Spring? Well here’s your chance. Dorchester School District Four will be hosting their very own basketball program this school year during the months of March and April and it will be available to all students across our school district in grades 3rd through 5th.
Things to know about the program:
Registration to play will be $20.00. This fee pays for a team shirt and end of season trophy
Students will be placed on a team at their school, and all teams will be coed. Coaches will consist of teachers, staff members, administrators, parents, and/or volunteers from your child’s school.
All students will play at least four games which will take place at your child’s elementary school. Elementary schools will communicate practice and game times.
Each game will be four, 6 min quarters. There will be a playoff the last week of the season.
Practices will take place once a week immediately after school. The day of the week for practice will be based on the coach’s schedule.
Students will be expected to demonstrate positive school behavior in order to participate.
Students must be present at school on the day of a game or practice in order to play that day.
GAME SCHEDULE:
Game 1: April 3rd
Game 2: April 10th
Game 3: April 17th
Game 4: April 24th
Semi-Finals: April 28th *at Woodland HS
Championship: April 30th *at Woodland HS
There will be no games or practices on the weekends

Keep students active in an organized sport.
Teach students the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.
Develop a feeder program for our basketball program at Woodland H.S.
The registration form will also be in the DOCUMENTS section after you click on the menu of your school's website.

Each month, Ms. Deb’s PIP class explores a new unit from the Pre-K Launch Curriculum by TEACHTOWN. This month, the students are learning about Community Helpers—the jobs they do, the tools they use, and how they serve the community.
To make learning meaningful, the class engages in hands-on, play-based activities that bring the lessons to life. Interactive experiences, such as dressing up and role-playing, make learning both fun and relevant for young learners.
On Wednesday, February 13, Ms. Deb’s students brought their lessons to life by dressing as community helpers featured in The Food Drive, the book they are currently reading. They also took an "in-school field trip," visiting various staff members to share what they’ve learned about different community roles.
Ms. Deb, her assistants, and the students love these engaging activities that make learning an exciting adventure!

Due to continued icy road conditions reported by Dorchester County, Friday, January 24th, will be an e-Learning Day for all students. The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority, and this decision has been made out of an abundance of caution.
We encourage everyone to stay safe and exercise care if traveling is necessary. Thank you for your continued understanding and flexibility.
